Merryman Communications is Now M+ – Get the Story Behind our Rebrand

We have big news: Merryman Communications is now M+.

And when a team of marketing communications pros rebrands, you know there’s a story behind it.

When Betsy Merryman started the firm in 2010, Merryman Communications was a practical name choice. It described what we did and leveraged Betsy’s strong reputation among prospective clients. Today, it doesn’t tell the whole story.

Over time, what our healthcare clients need has evolved — and so have we. From brand work and product launches to DTC marketing and creating websites, we’ve intentionally grown beyond traditional communications and public relations. And now our reputation is carried forward by a team that reflects the combined strengths of a larger and more diverse agency. This growth has been driven by our commitment to clients and a collaborative culture that attracts experienced professionals who share our passion for doing great work.

Today, we’re a full-service, integrated marketing and communications partner that healthcare organizations count on for results that matter. And with Betsy transitioning out of the day-to-day and into the role of chairperson and CEO, this was the right moment to rebrand. Our new name reflects who we’ve become over the past 15 years — and where we’re headed.

Why M+

The M connects us to our Merryman roots — the foundation of trust, creativity and strategic thinking that Betsy started 15 years ago. The + represents the extra value we bring and our forward movement — our ability to adapt as healthcare clients’ needs grow and change. It signals what we’ve always done: add something more. More ideas. More expertise. More impact. M+ honors our foundation and captures the spirit of what’s next.

And yes, we love that our name went from 23 characters to 2. (So many benefits!)

Same foundation. Same values. Same commitment.

M+ remains committed to the same foundation and values the firm was built upon, which is why clients choose us. Our “Win Win Win” philosophy will continue to guide us: When our team thrives, our clients enjoy results, the agency succeeds, and everyone wins. It’s how we work and how we show up for each other, for our clients, and for the people our work impacts. When everybody wins, we’re successful together and that mindset is embedded in every engagement.

As we step into this new chapter as an agency and I take over as president and managing partner, I want to share my gratitude to Betsy. Her vision and leadership have shaped this agency from day one, often behind the scenes, and continue to inspire our team and clients. Leading M+ is an incredible honor and the most exciting opportunity of my career. With Betsy as chairperson and CEO, her guidance will remain a cornerstone.

We’re excited about this next chapter and grateful for the trust and collaboration that got us here. Now with a brand that better reflects who we are — and where we’re going.

If you haven’t connected with us in a while, now’s a great time. We’re looking forward to hearing from you.

FAQ

What does M+ mean?
